Service Dog Cookies

Make Your Own Service Dog Cookies!

After perfecting his Peanut Butter Dog Treats, Brendan Madden decided he would also create a Service Dog cookie for humans to enjoy. He has generously shared the recipe here!


Service Dog Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Baking Instructions:

  • preheat oven to 375*F
  • mix butter until pale yellow
  • add sugar and beat until light and fluffy
  • beat in eggs and vanilla
  • in a separate bowl, mix flour, baking godsend salt, gradually combine dry ingredients
  • chill dough for two hours
  • roll dough 1/4” thick
  • bake on un-greased cookie sheet for 9-10 minutes

To make the vest:

  • use blue fondant
  • roll it out 1/16” thick
  • use the cookie cutter to cut out a dog shape
  • then trim the hind leg/butt, front leg and head off to form the vest
  • dab some frosting on the dog cookie to glue the vest on
