After perfecting his Peanut Butter Dog Treats, Brendan Madden decided he would also create a Service Dog cookie for humans to enjoy. He has generously shared the recipe here!
Service Dog Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup softened butter
 - 1 cup sugar
 - 1/2 tsp baking soda
 - 1/2 tsp salt
 - 2 eggs
 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
 - 3 cups all-purpose flour
 
Baking Instructions:
- preheat oven to 375*F
 - mix butter until pale yellow
 - add sugar and beat until light and fluffy
 - beat in eggs and vanilla
 - in a separate bowl, mix flour, baking godsend salt, gradually combine dry ingredients
 - chill dough for two hours
 - roll dough 1/4” thick
 - bake on un-greased cookie sheet for 9-10 minutes
 
To make the vest:
- use blue fondant
 - roll it out 1/16” thick
 - use the cookie cutter to cut out a dog shape
 - then trim the hind leg/butt, front leg and head off to form the vest
 - dab some frosting on the dog cookie to glue the vest on
