Service Dog Biscuit and the NHCSSD logo on a wooden cutting board

Service Dog Biscuit

To help celebrate Service Dog Awareness Month I wanted to share a Service Dog Biscuit recipe I developed!

Dog Cookie Cutter: I bought an Ann Clark Cookie Cutters Labrador Dog Cookie Cutter, 4.4” $6.99 on Amazon

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all purpose four
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 cup peanut butter
3/4 cup milk

Baking Instructions:
preheat oven to 400*F
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and baking powder
In a small bowl, whisk milk and peanut butter until smooth.
Make a well in the flour mixture and gradually add the peanut butter until well blended.
Use hands to work the dough into a pliable ball.
With a rolling pin, roll dough out 1/8” thick.
Cut with cookie cutter and place on baking sheet.
Bake for 8 minutes.
Let them cool on a rack!

Vest:
use red fondant (or color of choice)
roll it out 1/16” thick
use the cookie cutter to cut out a dog shape
then cut the hind leg/butt, front leg and head off to form the vest
then dab some frosting on the dog cookie to glue the vest on
