This is Bones and his trainer Dimi as they get ready to meet the person he had been matched with. Bones is both a psychiatric and mobility assistance service dog trained by The Service Dog Connection, He can interrupt signs of anxiety, provide deep pressure therapy, open doors, push handicap buttons, pick up and carry objects, like retrieving a cane, and provide forward momentum. More important, though, are the things he helps with that he was not trained to do like lowering symptoms of depression to the point where medications are actually effective! This has allowed his recipient to go back to college and he has even helped make friends on campus with other service dog teams!
